A&O makes OFT senior director hire Allen & Overy (A&O) is boosting its competition practice with the hire of a senior director from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).
Simon Pritchard is set to join the magic circle firm in the New Year as a partner from the OFT, where he is currently senior director of mergers.
Pritchard’s experience covers UK antitrust matters as well as UK involvement in European merger control.

DLA signs up Burges Salmon competition partner DLA Piper has bolstered its regulatory and litigation practice with the hire of competition partner Andrij Jurkiw from Burges Salmon.

LPC shake-up sees course split into two phases The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has confirmed it is to split the Legal Practice Course (LPC) into two phases, with students able to undertake a series of vocational electives alongside their training contract.
Under the changes, the first stage of the LPC will cover core practice areas, professional responsibilities, conduct and course skills, while the second stage will see students opt for three vocational electives.
