<p>Do you have a passion for competition, consumer and regulatory law?
  We are seeking a commercially-focused lawyer with 3+ years' experience
  to support our clients' across a wide range of matters and industries
  in this fascinating area of law. <br />

<p>In Australia, our client base spans all key industry sectors:
  financial institutions; energy; infrastructure, mining and
  commodities; transport; technology and innovation; consumer markets;
  and life sciences and healthcare. The successful candidate for this
  position will be curious and keen to learn the fundamentals about how
  our clients' businesses work and what drives their success. They will
  also understand fundamental competition law concepts and their
  practical application.</p>
<p>In this role, you will be advising corporate clients (manufacturing,
  transport, media, construction, financial services, FMCG, technology,
  infrastructure), government clients, utilities (electricity, gas,
  water, telecommunications and transport) and regulators such as the
  ACCC and the Australian Energy Regulator. You will be involved in and
  gain exposure to:</p>
<ul>
  <li>
    <strong> Merger clearance:</strong>  Advising domestic and global
    commercial clients on competition issues arising in merger
    clearances and seeking clearance of domestic, cross-border and
    multi-jurisdictional transactions from the ACCC.</li>
  <li>
    <strong> Advice:</strong>  Providing advice on all aspects of
    competition and consumer law to support their business success
    within the bounds of the law.</li>
  <li>
    <strong> Litigation/dispute resolution</strong> : Competition and
    consumer law dispute resolution and litigation for corporate clients
    and the ACCC.</li>
  <li>
    <strong> Investigations</strong> : Supporting commercial clients or
    the ACCC with investigations into anti-competitive conduct, cartels
    (including criminal cartels) and Australian Consumer Law contraventions</li>
  <li>
    <strong> Energy and renewables</strong> : Supporting clients like
    renewable developers, energy networks, generators and retailers with
    the nation-wide transition to a net-zero economy, supporting their
    navigation of regulatory frameworks and novel contract structures,
    including working on high-profile renewable energy projects.</li>
  <li>
    <strong> Economic regulation</strong> : Assisting clients with
    licensing, network access and price control in monopoly industries.</li></ul>
<p>
  <strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
  <li>3+ years PQE experience gained within a leading law firm or
    regulator, with predominant exposure to competition and regulatory
    and/or consumer law matters</li>
  <li>Commerciality, curiosity, and an enthusiastic and proactive attitude</li>
  <li>Exceptional communication skills and strong ability to work well
    in a team</li>
  <li>Outstanding attention to detail, analytical, technical and
    drafting skills</li></ul>
